dailymail.co.uk — Liposuction usually involves a general anaesthetic and an overnight stay in hospital. Now, however, a new technique uses a local anaesthetic which allows the patient to be home just a couple of hours after surgery.

"Normal amounts of exercise won't get rid of cellulite. Some women care very much about that."that's just pure stupid. what do you think cellulite is, some magic substance? it's just fat, if a person exercises, their body fat ratio will drop. cellulite is the irregular bumpy way fat forms from lack of exercise (like in the grossly obese). any exercise that reduces fat will reduce cellulite cos it's the same damn thing.

This is really not all that new. It wasn't then either.

I am not really one to bash another's ideas. However, readers of this article should realize that there is nothing new here. It is misleading to suggest that most patients require hospitalization or general anesthesia to do liposuction. Tumescent technique with sedation (as has been done for this woman) has been the standard for liposuction for years. I do liposuction very frequently and 1) never use general anesthesia and 2) never admit the patient overnight in the hospital. As far as 90 minutes is concerned, only if I am doing very sloppy work or doing a single area of the body. - My 2 cents!

The Tumescent TechniqueTumescent means to become swollen. Tumescent liposuction involves the use of a diluted solution made up of epinephrine and lidocaine. This solution is injected into the fat underneath the skin, causing the area to swell and firm up. (*The surgeon then uses a small surgical instrument to suction away the excess fatty deposits).
