I would think that anyone interested in an improvement of the status quo in Iraq would welcome the fact that it is being discussed - not a lock step. Maliki's government has been a significant impediment on issues such as Sunnis in government, oil revenue distribution, and coddling al Sadr.I was glad to see pressure applied here - that might then be applied to Maliki. Finally, as the maninthemiddle, I am not a big Trent Lott fan, however, the demonizing is a bit off the wall. If there are as money college (or soon thereafter) types on Digg as represented, perhaps a bit more debate, and a bit less fallacy would help make the point. I attempt to view things as to what's best for the nation - and can be persuaded by facts or fact based opinion. I am not as interested in how can I use this to empower "my" guys, or destroy the other guys - which are circular loops.

There was a dream that was America. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile.

Convenience first, always. That should be Lott's middle name.
