@kidcodea:"suddenly , digg transforms itself in a shrine of mac pr. anything mac. doesnt really"What does the iPod have to do with Macs? Looking around my office, I see 6 people with iPods, no macs in sight, and they all own PCs at home. I have an iPod, I have never owned a Mac, and I couldn't use MacOS/OSX to save my life. I'll save making fun of your spelling/grammar and maturity level for other diggers...
I too miss FireWire. I have two FireWire iPods (3G and 4G) as well as USB iPod (5G). Syncing with FireWire is not only faster but is also more reliable as well in comparison to USB in my experience. I wish that Apple would have kept FireWire in the iPod, at least in the hard disk models even if it meant that they could not be as thin as the current line up is today...
I remember seeing this as well, but I remember the rest of the presentation as being pretty key as for describing the path Apple has taken in recent years. Was it not the same presentation when he really stepped up iLife? Does anyone know where one could find the full video of that keynote?
Chalkboard is a ripoff of Comic Sans. It's the Mac version and one of the few examples of when a ripoff is better than the real thing. Comic Sans had it bad from the start though, it was created for Microsoft Bob.
Indeed. The same year my car was built (an old Bimmer but with all the bells and whistles cars have today like ABS, PDC, Airbags and so on) the top-of-the-line Apple-Computer (<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadra_950)">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadra_950)</a> had a 400MB hard drive. That's less than half of what the new shuffle has.../ sorry, reply to wrong post /
You're right, I have a 5G iPod and I thought that looked really thick in comparison. But I also had one of those creative jukebox things. Now that was a real brick! Plus it took minutes to boot and index your library. Literally 2-3 minutes w/ 6GB. I dropped it, ruined the disk, swapped it with a 20GB disk and it took longer to boot. Most of it was empty space inside the plastic case.Compared to that jukebox which was basically the only competition at the time, the iPod is a no-brainer. That's why the iPod took off, it improved on everything available by a huge leap: battery, firewire, size. Apple deserves that market, they did it the best.

Interesting to see Steve Jobs introduce the first iPod.
