consortiumnews.com — The New York Times disclosure of an official National Intelligence Estimate, which states that the Iraq invasion has worsened the global terrorist threat, carries an unspoken subtext ? that the Bush administration is either woefully ignorant of how to combat terrorism or finds the terrorist threat a useful tool for managing the American public.

Wow, a comment that disagrees without offering any substantial reasoning. How utterly neoconservative of you.

NakedSnake:The Clinton analogy is laughable at best. Clinton lied about something that a) in no way affected his ability to lead the nation, and b) was a personal engagement that should have been keep private to begin with. I'd lie about it, too. It was nobody's business except Bill, Hillary, and Ms. Lewinsky's. But the GOP saw the affair as an opportunity to sully Clinton's reputation, and they exploited it, wasting a whole lot of my tax dollars in the process. The investigation had nothing to do with anything except the GOP playing dirty, as they have proved to be so adept at.Bush, on the other hand, is wasting a WHOLE LOT MORE of my tax dollars thanks to his lies, and he's not being investigated for anything. If the Democrats have a problem with this, they have a reason to; LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE DYING EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF IT. OUR NATIONAL SECURITY IS AT RISK BECAUSE OF IT. The whole thing sounds criminal to me.

/me listens to the Bush speech and is inspired by a true American...I can't wait to go vote a straight Republican ticket in November. All you Leftist weenies will be crying on your blogs once again, while Republicans and our volunteer army ONCE AGAIN save your worthless hides from those who would do you harm. You're welcome!

"Rejection of your ideas sucks....but if your a democrat you gotta get used to it."I would say that come November the Republicans better get used to it Nixfu. By the way, you are so hateful...do you need a hug?

Oldnumberseven:We have the most advanced logistics system in history, backed up with weapons like none other in the world. Please describe one single situation where all supply routes are cut to a major strategic operation. I know some of the folks working to supply our armed forces; I wouldn't bet against them. I'd also like to know what you mean by "the math doesn't work?" I don't understand what you're trying to say here.

It might well mention it, in other sections that were not released.

I find it intriguing how right-wingers love to equate military belligerence with national security, and then think we should thank Mr. Bush for "protecting our freedom" while he and his cronies quietly strip away said freedom.

They're not breaking the law. You have to be a uniformed member of a military to be covered by the Geneva Convention
