Because Slingbox is very, very good at what it does. Its like having my Tivo on my cell phone.I dont want to have to download every show I want to watch to my computer. I also dont use windows, so thats another problem. The money I spent on my Slingbox is some of the best money I have ever spent. The video quality it can shove into even an EDGE connection is damn impressive.

With the way AT&T's 3G network performs, I wonder if this will even be a useful service when it does arrive.

What cell phone has a screen with a resolution that can play HD video?

No phone that I'm aware of, but you could also use the SlingPlayer desktop version to sling to a laptop via WiFi or 3G.
