linuxhaxor.net— INX is an interesting Linux distro released today, which is based on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and it is console only, without any graphical ?X? programs.

Wow, what a bunch of dumbasses in here! You clearly didn't read it, didn't try it, don't know wtf you're talking about, and then you make ignorant statemnts. INX is one of the truly great little distros. What makes INX really really great is that it combines the command line with some innovative menus. If you're using the console, and you dont't know where to go next, just type "menu" and you'll get some help. You're never going to be completely stuck... and that's HUGE! What I'd really like to see is a shell based on this great concept. One way to popularize Linux to the masses is to make it easy to learn the command line. Migrating to Linux is too much of a pain in the ass to just use it as if it were Windows. All you'll get is something like Windows with more support problems. Today, the command line doesn't usually mean the big black console. The command line and the desktop work together these days. This is not the complete answer to learning the command line for begnners, but it's a great idea for more advanced students.Any by the way, after you've installed this, you can type sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop, and you've got an Ubuntu desktop that you can start anytime by typing startx. Also, like another great live cd, Slax. you can copy INX to the RAM, freeing your CD drive to burn disks and whatnot. It's not for everyone, of course. It's certainly not for dumbasses.

So this is just like any other modern distro of Linux, but much more difficult and time-intensive to use.Great job!

Servers without X to save processing power? That must be one of the greatest ideas I have ever heard!

I'm open minded and have tried em all buddy, including command line Linux and *gasp* OS X. And yes I bet most hackers use Windows.

You're all talking out your asses. This is a lot more just BASH without X. It has support menus to guide the user. It's brilliant!
