The story won't go away because in America we still believe that elected officials shouldn't use the power of their office for personal gain.

The story won't go away because in America we still believe that elected officials shouldn't use the power of their office for personal feuds. Palin is now being investigated by an independent prosecutor and findings will be issued in October.Keeping aside for the moment what the prosecutor reveals, does this incident indicate a failure in judgment on the part of Palin? It is alleged that she used her husband to do the lobbying on her behalf to get an employee of the government fired. This sounds very similar to US Attorneys getting fired by Alberto Gonzalez's staff because they were from the wrong party. And Alberto Gonzalez resigned in disgrace.
