boingboing.net — YouTube superstar lonelygirl15, the mystery chick who posts confessional videos and has long been suspected of being part of some big media company's stealth campaign, might actually be an independent filmmakers' project, according to the post from the LonelyGirl15 website's "creators."

Whatever happened to Emmalina? She was around before this lonelygirl15 stuff. Maybe I just totally dug the Aussie accent. Delicious. Absolutely delectable.

Every time I see one of her videos I always think to myself, "wow, I'd love to have those 2-3 minutes back right now". What exactly is the hype?

I hate the people who shout "FAKE FAKE! OH SO FAKE!". Of course its fake, dips**ts. It looks like indepedent/freelance work to me. Whatever the creators are aiming at, they're doing a nice job of marketing it.

I didn't see anywhere in the comments where anyone mentioned her "boyfriend's" youtube account which would be fabricated as well:http://youtube.com/profile?user=Danielbeastalso, in the shows there's a picture of Aleister Crowley on her wall, it's over on the left of the frame... People speculated for a while about her beliefs in Thelema... I hope the character denies these rumours of being staged and continues with the story, i'd love to see how the character develops and reveals more about her "involvement" in Thelema.

More and more comments of people who think that this is such a ripoff. They feel so taken. In a world obcessed with reality TV these people are shocked when they find out that this girl is older than 15, not American, and totally fabricated. Good job. How did you find that out? What were you looking for? You were digging around trying to private eye your way even deeper into her story. When you find that she is fake, you lose the chase and are embarrased. The real show here is reading these comments of people who are nonetheless infatuated; postive or negative. I find both the videos and the comments to be A+ entertainment.

Her creators were on the NBC Nightly News last night.

ok so I take it back, I am not upset anymore, and I do not think she has issues in real lifeHowever the guy who plays her boyfriend/friend (I forgot his name, it's a weird one), is still ugly
