Computer users have the right to use their peripherals whatever OS they chose. So, your comment is dumb.

I concur. Great hardware, abysmal support. Maybe it depends on the country, but I didn't get support from this company when my in-warranty Logitech hardware stopped working. I submitted a support form from their website (since they don't provide us a phone number). I got an automated response a few months later saying the issue was "resolved" because I didn't "respond" in time. Odd, since what am I supposed to respond to when they didn't contact me in the first place? So I submitted a support request form from their website again, same thing happens again. I asked for a phone number but to no avail.

maybe most of the driver developer just not as familiar in linux as in windows environment? Hence it will take much more resource to develop linux driver at this stage.... maybe they will change their mind when competition get stronger... We simply need more ppl have skill in linux driver development...(so to produce sth that can work on most of distros.)

Logitech has enough problems writing drivers for Windows so not surprised with Linux. Still I think many Linux users think open-source means "free" and not "free to write your own." Cheapskates!

sorry yea i re-read it and was gonna mention that. their customer service is generally quite good.. the first G7 to break was replaced within a few days .. the next was a bit more hassle as they were quite insistent that the double clicking is a driver fault (which wouldnt surprise me....except it did it without the drivers installed). after that they started wanting me to snip off the ends of USB leads to prove i wasn't reselling them... .and post the snipped off end to an address in switzerland.

Whose to say that we're ripping the company off? All that we ask is for them to add to their code probably 5 lines and they just push us aside, thousands upon thousands of people wanting to buy their products and they push them aside. everything should have an open source alternative!
