Not to mention the billions of tons of carbon by these lame brain idiots flying all over the place.Did anyone see the news report showing Algore talking at one of the events, with a large jumbotron screenin the background with a spinning globe? THE GLOBE WAS SPINNING THE WRONG DIRECTION! .....Priceless!
http://www.bluegrass.com/For years, Planet Bluegrass has been leading the way in sustainable festivation. Together with our festival partners, we have worked to reduce the environmental impacts of our events by focusing on energy use and festival waste. This year we took the historic final step toward a 100% carbon neutral festival by purchasing 4,111,699 KWh of electricity from renewable sources to offset the emissions from all festival travel to/from Telluride. Learn more about our efforts and how you can do your part on our Sustainable Festivation page.
meh... a trip in your car to the concert would be way worse. Plus, under normal conditions (i.e., not gaming or rendering video), you might pull 100W for your computer, maybe 50W for your LCD screen. A 350W power supply doesn't mean your computer is using 350W.
Everyone that debates the issue of the Climate Crisis and how to best deal with it all admit that it is the citizens of the United States that are the biggest offenders of over consumption and that it is the American government that will have to take the lead in environmental legistlation to set an example for the rest of the world to follow. If you are in agreement with this, you also have to ask yourself what it is that most influences the American people and what can spread the message most effectively that it is them that need to make the changes. The answer, without a doubt, is Hollywood. As disgusting as it may be, I am ashamed to admit the majority of my fellow Americans know more about what's going on in the entertainment industry than in their own government. That being said, the Live Earth concerts and the effort of Al Gore's team to utilize the spotlight of musicians and celebrities to carry this message of change to the American people is nothing short of brilliance. I applaud their efforts and believe they are making a huge difference in this country and have already vastly surpassed the influence of many other environmental campaigns.

If they cared so much, why didn't they plan ahead to use the proceeds of the concert to offset the concert to carbon neutral?

I think we have more pressing matters than global warming to worry about because somehow Mars, Jupiter & Saturn shifted closer to the Sun than the Earth.http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/july2007/090707closertosun.htm
