lizzie9208.livejournal.com — Responding to a query from a pedophilia-watchdog group, LiveJournal deleted all journals containing "illegal" key-words in the journal or community interests. Rape-survivor and incest-survivor groups, BSDM groups, and Lolita (the book) literary groups disappeared, along with hundreds of personal journals. Users are (predictably) outraged.

The headline misses the REAL meat of the story. This isn't about some Harry Potter / Draco slash fic being deleted.<a class="user" href="http://digg.com/tech_news/LiveJournal_deletes_hundreds_of_illegal_rape_survivor_LGBTQ_communities">http://digg.com/tech_news/LiveJournal_deletes_hundreds_of_illegal_rape_survivor_LGBTQ_communities</a>"LiveJournal deleted all journals containing "illegal" key-words in the journal or community interests. Good riddance to every Live Journal and My Space page that gets deleted.

I never understood why people look for kids online. Surely they have a playground nearby.

Serves them right for supporting censorship in the first place and kicking out all those pro-pedophile groups from their organisations just to get UN recognition. Now that they are having some of their own medicine rammed down their throats maybe it will make them a little more sympathetic to others who don't share their semi-mainstream sexual predilections and are censored for it.Wake up folks! Censorship is and always has been about closing down independent thought, enforcing orthodoxy and punishing hetrodoxy. Fight it! Why should one group of people be prevented from seeing, hearing, thinking and expressing their thoughts just because another group of people don't like those thoughts? If you don't like something, you know where the 'off' button is - use it!
