@ browserbabeshut up. Males and Females are NOT the same so why should they be treated as such? Women don't want equal treatment. period.why you may ask? that would mean many things.if there was a draft, women would be going toosexual harrasement charges would go away. Women would be treated equally in the office as well. Anything that can be said in front of a guy would be fair game for a girl toomen would stop doing things for women.no more opening doorspaying for datespicking the girls uppulling out chairsgiven all these gifts etc.double standards exist for a reason. Comparing men and women is like comparing apples and oranges.
frozen1- I'm sorry that you see teachers in such a light and in some cases you are probably right. However, I know for a fact that not every teacher is like that and not every student is bored out of their mind. I know this because I'm in the schools working with these students. Some students are eager learners who love and respect their teachers. Each and every one of these students are amazing in some way which is why I love children so much. They are so unique and often surprise you. I wish I could say there are no bad teachers out there and there is nothing wrong with the school system, but I can't. Schools are not perfect and no one knows this better than the teachers who work there. Teachers are professionals ...or at least the good and responsible ones are. Schools are not perfect. Teachers are not perfect. Nothing is perfect. Does this mean we should give up? Do you have a better solution? Is our world, our society, and our schools beyond hope of repair or at least improvement? If you have the answer to these questions than voice them and do something about it. Right now I am doing what I can by being a teacher because I love and respect students and believe I have something to offer back to my community. I love to watch a student's face when they finally understand something that they were having a hard time learning. This is one of the many reasons why I am a teacher.soulpiercer7- I believe it was very immature for you to tell me to shut up. I never said that men and women are the same or meant to imply such, because I know for a fact they are not. However, I do believe an adult teacher engaging in sexual activities with a student is inappropriate and whether it is a male or female teacher the punishment should be the same based on what happened and according to the law.

Read the last two or three sentences.Usage Note: Traditionally, gender has been used primarily to refer to the grammatical categories of "masculine," "feminine," and "neuter," but in recent years the word has become well established in its use to refer to sex-based categories, as in phrases such as gender gap and the politics of gender. This usage is supported by the practice of many anthropologists, who reserve sex for reference to biological categories, while using gender to refer to social or cultural categories. This distinction is useful in principle, but it is by no means widely observed, and considerable variation in usage occurs at all levels.
