tuaw.com — Cocoa Blogs has linked a blog post from Gus Mueller, developer of such apps as VoodooPad, that an upcoming FlySketch 2.0 update will be Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard-only. This adds to a growing list of upcoming app releases such as TextMate 2 and Delicious Library 2 which will only play with Apple's next big cat.

If you want the new features, yeah. I know several people who still run 10.2 because that's what came with their Mac.

it's the opposite of backwards compatability.

"@Ireland - You are very right. I typed in the wrong symbol on nasdaq.com. His statement is still invalid though regarding Apple having more money because their single share price is higher than Microsoft's. My bad."Very well you typed the wrong symbol, that makes sense, but surely you would have noticed the figures you were typing in? You are indeed correct about the second part though, using that logic, Google would own the universe. I awaiting someone retorting on that comment; "Google does own the universe /sarcasm."

"No, this isn't good. I don't want to be (indirectly) forced to buy a new version of Mac OS X."I love how people treat software as a static investment. You buy it once and expect indefinite access to it. Software requires continuous improvement, and that costs money. Get over it, or download Ubuntu. It's up to you.

.NET was free upgrades for XP because there wasn't anything new from Microsoft, so what else are they going to release it for? Now that Vista is coming, DirectX 10 is Vista only so all you Windows users are going to be going through the same thing if you want to play the games that are coming out in the future. If you're lucky the game developer will allow the game to run in DirectX 9 but there's no guarantee. The reason some printers would work in 10.4.6 and not 10.4.2 is probably that there was a bug in 10.4.2 that prevented the driver from working. After all that's what the point releases are for is to fix bugs.Going from Tiger to Leopard somewhat the same as going from XP to Vista. Microsoft isn't releasing all the features of Vista for XP and no one expects they would, so why expect any new technologies in Leopard to be available in Tiger? Mac users also are very quick to adopt the newest version of the operating systems. Look at last year's WWDC keynote, they showed a graph of how fast Tiger was adopted.
