engadget.com — Linux fans didn't exactly get the publicity they were hoping for at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, when the so-called "Linux car" they had sponsored proved to be the first in the race to crash, ultimately causing it to finish dead last.

Correction- They weren't a second week team, but a full month team. I know, I started working on the project in April. The engine bill alone for a full month is over $225K for one car. We got to pack that barely used Honda engine in a crate to send back to them today. I sure wish they would give a rebate for unused miles!

The only reason this driver even agreed to do this race is because he kept hearing people mutter something about free beer.

to qualify intr: "To reach the later stages of a selection process or contest by competing successfully in earlier rounds."Qualified 3rd to last (i'll stand corrected), you don't qualify if you never get into the race.Lastly, you can't give recognition to someone who lost. 2nd place is merely the best loser. Regardless of the "spectacle" he gave....he came in last. Not only this, but at number 77's best speed in the race, it was about 5mph off pace with the leaders. It was a tortoise out there and anyone who honors the racing sport knows it.

I use Windows XP. I could care less about OS X as well. Above all else, I could care less about what others think of any OS, let alone the one I use.

So the first car crashed, and then it was pieced back together again from parts? And apparently put together badly.Sounds just like Linux to me.

Just for the sake of discussion, Linux and Mac are the superior OSs and Windows sucks. Why does it own 86+% of the market? Well, because Steve Jobs was a very dumb person back in the day, that's why. Market percentage doesn't indicate superior quality. In fact, most of the times it's the contrary.LINUX/MAC FTW.
