I tried this out before and it didn't work nearly as well I as had hoped. Also, what is the point of having a tuner card anymore? There are hundreds of sites that stream HQ material that are of much higher quality than my cable connection. Streaming means, no torrenting, somewhat legal, and incredibly fast. Basically just get the fastest bandwidth your isp provides, drop the tv option and enjoy on demand HQ streams.
LinuxMCE is not a distro of linux -- it runs on the Kubuntu distro. It is a collection of packages.there is a huge difference between MythTV and LinuxMCE. MythTV does not include home automation, security camera-home automation interfaces, VOIP telephony, remote messaging, security scenarios, climate and lighting scenarios, and remote access. LinuxMCE does.MythTV is also difficult to integrate into a multi-user (i.e. multi-PC/multi-room) environemnt, whereas LinuxMCE was designed for this from the ground up.No way are they the same. MythTV only does a small fraction of what LinuxMCE does.
