I was recommended the exact same (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian). This seems quite accurate, considering the fact that I use Ubuntu & Fedora as my main Distro's. I think that Ubuntu and Fedora have a lot in common (Both use GNOME, both have built in package managers, and they are both really easy to install and use).
There's nothing to be afraid of about compiling everything, unless you're always in a hurry, and you can always do something else whilst it's building. It's not like you have to choose compile options and stuff, most of the time you just type 'emerge ' and sit back. You may want to 'emerge -pv first, to see what USE flags you might want to add or remove, but 9 times out of 10 there's nothing needs changing.

As a BSD-user I took this test for fun... unknowing of the horror I would be presented. I was about to die in a heart attack when it presented me with Gentoo! Never I tell you, Gentoo is the root to all evil.http://blockbusternewreleases.orghttp://footballbettingtips.net
