Awesome. Imagine all the things you could do with Linux on a Mac. You could compile things, run a server, look for drivers and software, and even put a picture of a penguin on the desktop.
geminitojanus: Why would I do that when I can just run windows with Amd or Intel? Seems like a needless waste. Someone could go through all that time trying to get Windows to run on a PPC. While they are doing that I am all ready running windows on my PC.
personally, i have no use in booting linux on my mac. id rather have it dual boot windows so i could use one less computer to get the tasks i wanted done.
Why would I want to do this when MacOS X is soooo nice, and is UNIX under the covers? Yes, should Apple consider replacing BSD UNIX with Linux? Perhaps. But, from someone that has been using UNIX and its variants for 30 years, why does it matter?
"Sigh, once again. Why the hell would you buy a Mac only to put Linux on it?!? Who gives a rip what hardware it runs on, people buy a Mac for OS X.""OS X = BSD Unix.WTF is the point of running LinuxYou can already run all Xwindows apps on OS X."really!! Next everyone will be excited about a Commodore emulation mode that works in linux on the intel macs running Halo 3.

If you can use LILO and Grub to boot Windows, why couldn't you use eLILO to do it as well?

It matters to some people... I for instance only want to run Linux on the intel Mac platform for my own good reasons!
