gizmodo.com — Self-described cellphone cynic and "father of Linux" Linus Torvalds decided to get a Google Nexus One the other day. And while the customer service lines may be clogged over the phone's performance, Daddy Linux is positively pleased as punch.

pHr34kY: No... but it is a Debian fork.

Not really. You aren't restricted to just installing apps that come just from the marketplace on a non-rooted Android. Root access is only necessary for flashing a custom build, changing your processor's clock speed at will, etc.

I see your point.

@mlw4428HAHAHA!!! You guys are all the same. Right through, beginning to end, attack the messenger, attack the credibility of the sources, ignore the merits of the argument itself. Nice. Very nice.Well, friend, you guys have a lot of sources to debunk. More than one source is reporting sluggish and disappointing Nexus One sales. But if you want to play Don Quixote for Google, don't let me get in the way. Have at it.<a class="user" href="http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/01/nexus-one-sales/" rel="nofollow">http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/01/nexus-one-s ...</a><a class="user" href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/02/05/nexus_one_halfway_to_goal/" rel="nofollow">http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/02/05/nexus_one_ ...</a><a class="user" href="http://industry.bnet.com/technology/10005137/google-has-weaker-brand-than-many-think-given-nexus-one-sales/" rel="nofollow">http://industry.bnet.com/technology/10005137/googl ...</a><a class="user" href="http://www.theaustralian.com.au/australian-it/the-hub/google-nexus-one-sales-slower-than-iphone-analysts/story-fn4mm422-1225827623280" rel="nofollow">http://www.theaustralian.com.au/australian-it/the- ...</a><a class="user" href="http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2010/01/13/google-nexus-one-sales-off-to-a-slow-start/" rel="nofollow">http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2010/01/13/google-nexu ...</a><a class="user" href="http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/nexus_one_sales_off_to_slow_start/" rel="nofollow">http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/nexus_one_s ...</a>And yes, I know it's easier to call me names and bury my posts than to refute the hard, cold facts with reasoned debate.

Did your "logic training" include reading comprehension. At no point in my last post did I question your sources. I did refute all of your "hard, cold facts" which 1) It's "cold, hard facts" so learn that expression or don't use it.2) You are not making a case based upon "hard, cold facts [sic]." You've only made 1 point and that's the low sales figures of the Nexus One. Let's look at that shall we?As I point out YET AGAIN the sales are low because no stores carry the phone (you can only order it online) and none of the carriers make a push to purchase one. It's not your standard cell phone carrier/manufacture relationship. They don't have signs up, they don't make recommendations because as a T-Mobile person in the store told me "It's Google's game, not ours."Secondly you want to laugh at the Nexus One figures and somehow infer that it reflects that Google is doing poorly against the iPhone. You've yet to show the sales figures of ALL Android powered phones (which is Google technology). I'd imagine that in Android's short time it's done more than take a nibble at Apple's sales.Lastly, quit either ignoring what I'm saying or if you don't comprehend it then don't continue the argument. You are not some "messenger" unless you're being paid by Apple to post your statements on Digg. Again, quit holding yourself up on a pedestal. You just end up looking like a douchebag.
