thinkprogress.org — [AUDIO] Rush Limbaugh said that if Obama doesn't "want to be" black, he should "renounce it, become white!" He added, "If you don't like it, you can switch. Well, that's the way I see it. He's got 50-50 in there. Say, 'No, I'm white.'"

If Obama walked into a backwoods, B.S. filled, bigot, racist town and asked for directions they would look at him see that the color of his skin is black and treat him like crap. Why is it that the mature and intelligent among us who know racism is wrong choose to debate whether a man is "black" rather then just looking at him and acknowledging that he is dark skinned and likely has been hurt by the same racist comments that other black people have. Perhaps it is fair to say that he is not 100% South African, but it does not matter. He is a black American who likely has had to deal with the same roadblocks that other prominent black men/women have faced. The fact that he was able to rise above it and still be able to show empathy towards others (his stance on health care) shows his true strength of character as an American. The Black community should stop worrying about his exact heritage and extend open arms to a brother who has suffered and needs their support to continue to succeed.

A brother who has suffered? Please, wax eloquent on that topic! From what I've found out about Obama, he has had it pretty good.
