torrentfreak.com — Yesterday it was revealed that, despite her calls for tougher anti-piracy legislation, Lily Allen herself created illicit mixtapes full of copyrighted music and made them available to the public. Today, after having rationalized why it is okay for her to pirate music, she killed her pro-copyright blog because "the abuse was getting too much."

EXACTLY Leo. That's what people don't understand. She was obviously complaining about copy-right infringement because her latest album wasn't selling well and she thought it was because people were downloading it (which could or could not be the case, that's not the point). The fact that she tried to seem righteous with "It's hurting the little guy, I'm not complaining about the money" stuff makes this even worse. So now that it's clear that complaining about copy-right infringement when you're a millionaire musician doesn't go over with your non-millionaire fans, you are going to give up the fight??This line says it all "“The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t stand to profit from [anti-piracy] legislation.”Absolutely pathetic. I hope Lily Allen seriously stops making music, has to work a 9-5, and can't afford to buy a 15 dollar piece of plastic and resorts to downloading music. And Mr. Nathan. If she truly was an artist she would write and sing because it's something she loves. Being a musician is only a job becuase you have to perform. Writing a record in the studio is NOTHING (it can be done for cheap....I'm talking hundreds of dollars and less than 24 hours total time). My friend has a studio in his basement that is just as good as a major record company. I'm not saying she shouldn't get paid for performing, but it's crap to say that we're "stealing" anything by downloading music. If anything we're stealing from the record company, not the musician, and if that's the case, f**k THE RIAA.

I dont think anyone considers themselves a real mcdonald's customer service provider. :P It's job vs career. It's currently assumed that musician should be a career, not something you do just for a paycheck. So your income shouldn't matter much since you're doing it "for the love of music". Of course if you can get paid for doing what you love you'd of course want to milk it for all you can. So their stance is still understandable.

Oh the irony. How can you not love that?

Last time I checked, the only requirement for music to be good was to not be Lily Allen.

I never knew she had anything to do with MySpace. Who the hell still goes to MySpace?

If she WERE a real musician. And that sentiment is bulls**t anyway. "Real" musicians don't have to eat and shouldn't enjoy anything in life as the result of their work? Join the real world, dumb-ass.
