lifehacker.com — You download, create, delete, and move around countless files and endless piles of data on your PC every day. While your PC would ideally handle all of this data for you, it doesn't take long before you end up with a disorganized, cluttered PC.

How do the defrag tools compare to PerfectDisk?
pwr4Jul 4, 2008
Diskeeper Lite. You can't scheudle defrags without the upgrade version, but it does tell you when it's time for a partition to be defragmented. The pro version that has real-time defrag (IFAAST) is worth it, and does not seem to use much memory or system resources.

and then you also back up anything else you accumulated since the last refresh. including s**t you might want to get rid of.Unless you plan to individually search for every registry key associated with any program you've installed and are still using. At which point it becomes much slower than running crap cleaner. a job that this tool is built to handle.

How does it compare to Your Uninstaller, I might replace it; since Revo is free, not like I was paying for Your Uninstaller...

Avast is great; especially so because of the boot time scan. Any antivirus that doesn't include it is more or less a joke.

Jv16 Powertools (macecraft.com) found hundreds of problems that this product missed. The computers start quicker; what could be better?

to bhavinp who obviously does not know what he is reading, so he would be pissed off due to incompetence. ccleaner is not a spyware virus scanner2 defraggers1 system CLEANER1 spyware virus scanner1 uninstaller.and to actually say something productive.for years of exp with spybot and ccleaner. i can personally say these are one if not the best programs in their respective field. not sure about the defrag programs. and im going to try the uninstaller starting now:D

I've tried to "decrapify" with CCleaner, but haven't noticed any performance changes or speeding up. Probably, the laptop wasn't so badly disorganized. I'll try again in a month because now i copy, then delete and copy again a lot.

Wow spybot is awesome. CCleaner has won a lot of awards too, good article. Thanks, LifeHacker.
Here's where I go for my maintenance needs though, http://www.freecomputermaintenance.com/free-computer-maintenance-blog/
