genevapubliclibrary.org — It seems that a library in a nearby town recently made the switch to Ubuntu. Because Microsoft ended support for Windows 98, the librarian decided to switch to Ubuntu because of its "ease of use" and cost-efficiency. I think several things got lost in translation. No one ever thought that this story would be known beyond a few counties in Alabama and Florida. Linux is hard to explain to the un-technical. At least the story was told and maybe it will encourage other public libraries that they too can take the leap to open source.
