blog.bobbarr2008.com — Bob Barr explains that conservatism has failed to remain conservative. He states that if citizens of a particular state wish to legalize medicinal marijuana or define marriage in their state, it's wrong for the Federal government to come in and override that. Barr states that this interference is not conservatism. Rather, it's big government.

Barr IS a libertarian. He WAS a neocon hack, but he opened his eyes and saw the destruction the government was causing.

We're in a crisis of big government. Both major party candidates are proposing massive expansion of the federal government. In fact, they are competing to see who can offer the biggest government!! While it may have felt good to nominate the "purest" possible Libertarian, get 0.4% of the vote, and pat ourselves on the backs while the federal government continues to grow, this year we must take a real stand. We have a candidate who represents himself and our ideals well in the MSM. He's starting with respectable polling numbers. And, he does walk the walk. Let's not fear converts. 99.66% of voters in 2004 chose someone other than a Libertarian. If we're to change America, we'll need converts, and lots of them. The stakes are too high to do otherwise.

I hope against reason that Barr turns into a real libertarian.I couldn't think of a better way to destroy libertarianism then to get the LP to elect a statist. Over a pillar like Mary Ruwart, no less. With a statist as a nominee, win or lose, the state is safe from real libertarian philosophy. It drives out the actual libertarians who are fed up with the LP. Fewer people exposed to the truth, and efficiency, of freedom. The level of conversation back in the safe confines of right vs left bs, and to top it off, how does an actual libertarian explain to the mass of idiots out there how it is that the Libertarian Party has nothing to do with libertarianism, and that Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz, Bob Barr, etc., aren't real libertarians? Mary Ruwart who?? Wasn't she the runner up to Bob Barr one year? f**king tragedy. The next stage would be to try and convince the actual libertarians to waste their time establishing a new party, which could easily be taken by a majority of statists in the future if need be.I can't think of a better way to put an end to this pesky libertarian movement then to nominate Bob Barr as a LP candidate.

Google too difficult to use?He started a campaign demanding the Pentagon ban pagans from the military on May 18, 1999. Look it up.

Kanga - the Constitution Party is not the 3rd largest party in the country. Maybe the 3rd largest third party? The donkeys and elephants take up the first two spots, and the Libertarian Party comes in at 3rd largest. Bob Barr is the only viable third party candidate out there.

Also, for all those that are stuck on Barr's previous record, have you never changed your mind? Have you never seen the light and reversed your stance on anything? I certainly have, and I believe most everyone out there has as well at one time or another. This guy is going on nationally broadcasted and syndicated shows admitting that he was wrong - but that he's working to right those wrongs. Are you really so dense as to not be able to see that?
