tvsquad.com — Following on the success of "The Colbert Report", another alumni of "The Daily Show" may get his own spin-off. Lewis Black's new pilot, "The Root of All Evil", will be taped this Thursday in Los Angeles. The show is described as a round-table discussion of current events between Black and other comedians. Can't wait to see it!

The article states it sounds similar to Tough Crowd. I always thought the premise of that show was a good one, but I hate Colin Quinn. I think Lewis Black has more appeal to the mainstream. I always felt like I didn't appreciate Quinn since I wasn't from New York.

@mrch0mp3rsThanks for one of the better mental images I've had today. That would be hilarious. It just made me think of the SNL parody of The McLaughlin Group. I still can't believe they got such an obscure parody approved. It was great, though:http://www.zippyvideos.com/5171469584804106/the_mcloughlin_group/

@mikeneilson:Regarding Adam's show, I think it had something to do with them taking out the audience in the second half of the season. You're less inclined to find something funny if all you hear is absolute silence. After the first show without the audience I was thinking "Damn, that's gonna get canceled real fast."

Lewis Black really is a riot live. If you ever have the opportunity, take it. I went to "Red, White and Screwed" at SUNY Oneonta and it was worth every penny plus the two hour drive."I kind of hope its like a Mad Money for politics including all of the animated insanity that implies."++

@MikeGrenadeI saw him on that tour. The funniest live performance I've ever seen. But whatever happened to Red State Diaries?

I had the pleasure of meeting Lewis Black in Vegas at the House of Blues. I even got to tell him a joke he thought was funny. Nice guy, love his sense of humor AND he's so much better than just a stint on the Daily Show (but love seeing him there)! Go Lewis!

I liked that show when it was called Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.

cant wait to see it. I'm sure with the talent of Black, along with the writing teams for Colbert and Stewart, it will be a must see show.Additionally, anything that takes time away from mind of mencia, or mad TV is always welcome news.
