money.cnn.com — Three out of four Americans would rather see General Motors and Chrysler face bankruptcy than watch the government pour yet another round of bailout cash into the big U.S. automakers, according to a CNN/Opinion Research poll released Thursday.

Great post. There is a lot of dim thinking elsewhere in this thread.

I said "nearly 40%" the actual number is 37.8%3. you said "every google search I have pulled so far says you are FULL OF s**t" Perhaps you are new to Google. Let me help with a link http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/numbers/displayatab ...4. You said "Your f**king delusional and a hyperbolic bulls**t artist" Actually this is a fairly well known statistic. No hyperbole or bulls**t. Oh, you might want to watch the your vs you're. 5. Chrysler did not go bankrupt in the 70s or 80s. It received a loan from the government to AVOID bankruptcy.

f**k the car companies, they robbed consumers blind for over 85 years and were too greedy to properly structure their company to compete with foreign companies. They Sold Out to the American Steel Companies by buying foreign steel, there interest have nothing to do with America's bulls**t patriotism front. What astounds me is when a company does poorly they restructure cooperate execs and find new innovations to rescue the company. That was not the case with Ford, GM, or Chrysler. I felt honored to sign a petition against bailing them out. If my company went under I wouldn't receive a bailout, why should they? Their wasteful spending and gas guzzling cars should be an example of the consequence of such a poorly managed company.

Boycott ALL government owned companies. The Socialist ONLY win if they survive. If you buy a government manufactured vehicle, the union keeps collecting dues and handing them to the Socialist. Your taxes (“bailouts“), your loan (buying a gvt car), your income (your payments to GVT own companies) will fund an ever stronger Socialist machine, which will continue to collectivize until you are faced with ALL companies being owned by government, their goal.--We must strangle this infant in it's crib
