I don't see why everyone has this big hardon for Laporte. Have any of you listened to his podcasts? They're not that good. Every few minutes he's ninja'ing into some advertisement or talking about how his kindle gives him handjobs every time he turns the page (at least that's how he makes it sound he loves that thing so damn much).It's like if the person was on Tech TV, suddenly the entire geek crowd loves them despite how douchey they come off as today.You may now proceed with the digg down party.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
I have a feeling this will change very soon. The online streaming market is just beginning to blossom again. this time, (I think) the impact will be much greater. The fact that Customer dissatisfaction with network options and Cable companies rates are at new highs, pushes more and more people to the internet for their casual entertainment and news. The TWIT network is already one of the top sources for this channel. Add to that the New York presence that is in the works. I may be waay wrong. We shall see how things go.
lol wow, based on the number of people who buried me, apparently Leo has more people convinced of his persona than I thought.I mean seriously, nobody considers Kevin Rose to be the "dark tipper" or a hacker of any kind either, do they? He never even hacked his own Xbox or anything, he had other people do it, and stated as much before. He also didn't write a single line of code for Digg, which is also well-known. He just has some moderate computer skills, and relies on experts (like Yoshi back on TSS) to make him look smart. Similar to Leo, he provides entertainment, and that's pretty much it. Though as far as entertainment goes, he's got nothing on Leo. At least Leo will take chances. He even swallowed fire. Kevin will pussy out on just a drink, even though he built up this image that he's a bad-ass alcohol-drinking hacker. Oh well. People will always be convinced that their entertainment is real if they don't understand all of the content. I mean, some people still think wrestling is real too, after all.
