I don't buy PCs, but I have heard from experienced friends that the Lenovo notebooks are just not the same quality as their old Thinkpad counterparts. They make me use a T40 Thinkpad at at work, and I hate it. I shudder to think of a computer worse than that.
A T40 is an old unit made by IBM, not by Lenovo. It was made well before the sale. BTW, I have a T40, a T43 and a T60p. All of them are great. What's wrong with the T40 that makes you shudder?
...By the way, the Chineseness about this brand needs to be deluted. I don't feel good about it. This is partly because of how Chinese grocery store owners have treated me and I don't want my computer support to be the same. (As for my racism, I'm okay with the ones who've been white washed_ the kind that doesn't smell like fish and extend their hand over your shoulder to open the door you just opened to get ahead of you with utter disrespect)
wow that is a substantial drop. this is profit? $ coming in after expenses? that's not so bad.well, they should innovate. i recommend they begin working on linux2 and see if they can get a groovy state deal with India or Bulgaria, or another country that provides all free software.

It's official.... nobody likes Chinese brands, even when they're brought and paid for household names.

My relatively new T43 still has the IBM branding. (3 months old)

That makes reading comments the first time through quite annoying. Perhaps just make it option.
