I actually took a college class in introduction to robotics. We used the first gen of these for 95% of the class. The class joke is we took a class to play with legos. But they were awsome. I can't wait to get my hands on these
I actually just finished teaching a class at my son's elementary school for about twelve 3rd, 4th & 5th graders dealing with mindstorms (with some help from Tuft's CEEO). These kids are really into this stuff and they find it fun -- and just think it is forming them and teaching them the basics of physics, engineering, robotics and deductive reasoning. The staff at Tuft's wrote thier own software and are currently working on new software dealing with the new NXT sets. I am wondering if they will make this open source or if this is what Lego is talking about.
Perfect way to teach basic programming skills to kids - instead of pointless Logo/TrueBASIC etc. 'Print your name ten times' tasks, they could be given this which would engage them a lot more since they would get worthwhile results.

Woow sounds great. I had mindstorms as a kid, great bit of kit. Surprisingly advanced for 'lego',

LOL you're right. I never thought about it that way probably because I use NQC.I'm a big fan of Lego and technology, so this is great.

even though it is alittle bit of a stretch, this may form a great new generation of Firefox developers.

Can't wait to see how the new NXT set helps teams complete their FIRST Lego league challenges.
