sitekreator.com — Come Learn Ruby withSatish TalimSatish TalimMy interest in Ruby was aroused after I read an article Ruby the Rival in November 2005. I decided to learn Ruby myself and started making my study notes. What's presented here is a result of that.

I have experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, and Java, and am by no means an expert at any of them; I mostly use them to code small apps that do stuff that no other app does.I purchased the "Programming Ruby" book by Dave Thomas, often referred to by Ruby programmers as "Pickaxe". Maybe I'm a moron but I can't understand a lot of concepts such as blocks. They're unusual, which is part of the problem, but I don't think the book explains these concepts very well. Probably the biggest problem I've had with most programming tutorials is they're not practical; they tell you how to do stuff but don't tell you when you would want to or when you should do that stuff, or sometimes the examples are so obscure that you just can't relate. So far I have yet to read any tutorial on Ruby that actually clicks. So right now I'm doing Rails stuff and I don't even totally understand how Ruby works.Maybe I don't have the IQ for it, I dunno.

Let's just hope that the number raised to the exponent is greater than or equal to 1 ;)

@idioticBugfirefox w/ noscript blocks the left nav. i had the same issue. you have to allow netclime.net and you can get around.

The left-side menu on this Learning Ruby site, will not load if you have the Google Toolbar installed in your Firefox browser.
indianguruOct 2, 2006
To overcome this, you should add sitekreator.com in your toolbar settings and also add *.netclime.net (not netclime.com) as a zone with allowed access.
