blogs.findlaw.com — An Oklahoma state Trooper is under fire, after possibly picking the wrong vehicle to pull over. Last month, Trooper Daniel Martin was responding to a call for backup when he says an ambulance failed to yield to him. So he pulled over the ambulance for failing to yield. But that's when things may have gotten a bit out of hand....

The video was leaked - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KluItc365hU And the trooper didn't think the EMS worker flipped him off, he was pissed off that the EMS driver wouldn't give him the right of way during a so called "pursuit" hello there was patient in the back, the EMS shouldn't have to stop just because some authoritarian cop wants to go on a power trip.

Apparently in that area, it is policy not to run lights and sirens with a patient in the back unless it is a dire situation:http://www.fox23.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?videoi ...He was probably wrong to either not move over or turn on his lights, but the road conditions there seemed to be kind of narrow and windy, so I could understand how the driver may have had a problem seeing the officer come from behind given the rear visibility of an ambulance, and the fact that there was a car that appeared to be right in front of him.Regardless of these facts, the officer should have IMMEDIATELY stopped and got back in his car and followed the ambulance to the hospital when the medic told him that there was a patient in the ambulance. If the driver needs a ticket, that is fine, but don't risk someone's health over it. Failure to yield is a lot less of an issue than someone dying.

Lol, are you saying a police car with a siren going can't run a red light? Ambulence did NOT pull over. The cop had to get in the other lane. Ambulance did not have their siren on...patient was most likely not being honest with an insurance company or the hospital...The cop was indeed out of line swearing, though I wonder what his original 911 call was about that he was speeding to in the first place. It might have been a serious matter...Manager refuses to get out of the way. YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT AN OFFICER SAYS WHEN THE REQUEST IS REASONABLE. The EMT assistant was out of line.
