Revenge would be wrong but what if we found out that they falsified everything, breached privacy to all US citizens and subsequently profited off of the war and their lies? At that point we have an obligation to send a message to our leaders beyond removal from office. This hypothetical corruption can't be tolerated and is a step towards national collapse.

It doesn't matter what laws Congress passes, if the next Republican president appoints a political lackey as Attorney General it'll happen all over again. Bush appointed his dog as Atty General and a toady when the dog got kicked out. Republicans showed their true hypocrisy by not impeaching Bush and Cheney. We have to find a way to stop the next one from taking us for another ride on the unitary executive railroad.

The reason that bush/chainey wanted to keep the "energy taskforce" secret was because they were selling the Iraq oil to get coalition partners and access to deploy troops. Buried beneath the talk of executive power are the terrible secrets of the Bush putsch..., The 2000 Florida and Ohio elections, the push for war with Iraq, the anthrax scare and the 911 strike. Did the CIA sodomize children to pressure their mothers to tell where their husbands were-- as alluded to by Seymour Hersh on 06/08/04?? Once these occurrences are outed in their entirety, the rational for the excesses will appear as an accessory to the crime of the millennium and .... an attempted theft of our democracy. It is no coincidence that the Bush cabal eschews the courts for resolution of the mega-crimes which occurred on their watch, because it is in the courts that the crimes are exposed and the true nature of events is unraveled.Presidential pardons are a temporary stalling device at best. The pardons cannot forever exempt former officeholders and officers from being called to testify about events in which they were conspirators, but those being prosecuted are not pardoned, unless Bush pardons all those involved in stolen elections , the anthrax events , 911, and the engineering of the Iraq war. The "torture" , secrecy and spying are only the tools of the criminals to hide their crimes. Pardons tell where the bodies are buried as they did with Libby.. Pardons probably strip perpetrators of their fifth amendment rights.
