@numlokyou seem to know whats up. how do you think they stack up against SED?
numlokOct 11, 2006
Heh heh... I know a "bit" about Necsel lasers, however, I admittedly don't know enough about SED.Off-hand, I'd say that one of the more interesting avenues being pursued with Necsel that I don't see happening with the others is micro-projection. Imagine having a bright and crisp TINY projector in your Phone,PDA,or stand-alone PSP Peripheral that can hold focus no matter where you point it and doesn't use much power. Suddenly, everyone on the plane is clammoring to get the seat behind the tall bald guy.Digital cinema display is also something your not going to see the other tech move into, but you might see with Necsel (by combining multiple RGB units into one SUPER-LASER!).Otherwise, all I know about the TV units is that they look REALLY good (especially the colors), are basically "production ready", and should be relatively inexpensive.

@dclowd"A large sector is being left out of the hi-def market: middle to lower-class families. Is it really inconceivable that a profitable business model might try to reach out to this demographic?"I wish I could digg you up twice. Both SED and Laser are coming out with these models at 50+" inches and they'll compete with Plasma. WHY? Why not announce that they'll be 30"-40" for half the price of existing LCDs? I can't imagine a new, *high-quality* 38" TV that costs around $800 or a 34" that costs $500.The average family doesn't want a 65" TV for $5000.

PS3Can't decide. Now at one gazzillion green backs or next glurback(a made up time frame, where the price is exactly 1/2 of the current price).

I don't know who told anyone trialled isn't a word or is a new word for the dictionary... It is a word and it's not new. Perhaps not one you Americans use much (based on Google) but that doesn't mean it isn't a word... Perhaps if you trialled life in another country, you might learn a bit?BTW even the digg dictionary recognises trialled (but not recognises unfortunately)
