i enjoyed the article, but they really need to start proofreading better, (i found at least 3 mistakes)@fatherspud do u think u could get us a link to that study?
If it uses gas then it is just extending the deadline (the day we run out of oil), and also it still contributes to global warming. Hydrogen won't work because we would have to build too much infrastructure to transport and store it. The future is Methanol. It can be transported easily and safely, much like gasoline, unlike hydrogen. Filling stations can convert to methanol MUCH cheaper than hydrogen. It is easily transformed to hydrogen to run fuel cells.

I've been trying to increase awareness of 100mpg+ cars that you can buy right now:http://digg.com/technology/100_mpg_car_available_NOWif the technology is rolled out with the big auto manufactures that the organization has been talking with, it may only cost $5000.Add a solar panel to the roof of the car and the mpg goes through the roof.

I'd hardly call $5000 "only", considering that some NEW cars don't cost much more than that.
