Tech support? Who needs tech support with an IM client?@PueSi - Personally, I will always prefer Trillian to Gaim on Windows. These days when you have at least a 1gb of memory in most machines and processing power of at least a video game console, you can't use the excuse of "Gaim uses less resources". You don't even notice the difference, in my opinion.@JonForTheWin - For Mac? iChat ain't too shabby. I prefer Adium.
But Kevin Rose has an army following. Its really not about the content (to an extent, it has to work), its about who follows you, which is pretty much the whole TechTV/broken/digg network.
@Empty SteveNot everyone loves the gradient backgrounds and extra ram it's taking.I use my computer for productivity, not to look at something pretty (I'd assume that's what a girlfriend would be for; theoretically)

If it's completely open, supports GNU Privacy Guard, audio and video via Gstreamer out of the box, it'll do extremely well.

With millions of Digg users backing him, there is little doubt that Kevin Rose will prevail, his idea of social pools is great. Web 2.0 FTW!
