Energeek that comment was just as ignorant as the two previous morons comments. It is people like you that are continuing stereotypes, so do us all a favor, the next time use your brain before posting stereotypical comments.
So they wont actually be shipping them until June? or were they just talking about a newer version being shipped in June? So we really won't be getting them until August if that is the case!
All of you are seeming to forget that they did this with the original Ubuntu at least two years ago, and look what it did for their popularity and publicity. I didn't even know Ubuntu existed before they started offering and shipping CDs, and the story is the same with Kubundu.
KDE and GNOME is an option in SUSE.. I've just tested the final release of SUSE 10.1 and it doesn't install either of the two desktops as the default.. you have to make your own choice.. but I got this feeling while being acquainted with SUSE 10.1 that it was rushed..
Why bother? What I mean is, you can take any version of Ubuntu and turn it into the other versions (Switching between Ubuntu, Edubuntu, and Kubuntu) just by switching the three desktop metapackages. It only takes a few minutes, and it's painless if you do it after you install. So, why not just install regular Ubuntu, and then open up a terminal and remove the default desktop metapackage, and install the new one? We're talking something like three or four commands here.
i ordered some Ubuntu disks for all the architectures, as i have an x64 PC, and i ordered some server disks, and some Kubuntu disks for all the architectures, and some Edubuntu disks. I'm going to get all my friends to convert... .maybe at least one. I'm definitely going to have to donate like $100 cause that's like nothing for a great OS! i also run Windows Server 2003 and i want to convert to Linux because i am tired of wiping the hdd. Suse Linux 10.1 is also a good distro.

"In upcoming versions of Novell enterprise applications, the default desktop environment will be GNOME." ... "If the user makes no explicit choice, GNOME will be installed."
