getting that discounted rate of $600 isn't free. your not factoring in the years of high premiums you have to pay to get there, premiums that a lot of americans can't even afford. if health insurance as affordable, the president wouldn't be trying to pass health insurance reformand it use to be commonplace to just pay out of pocket, it's only recently that health insurance has become as popular as it didthere are a lot of cases where having health insurance will have been cost-efficient, but on the whole they are a for-profit industry. their objective is to profit, not to provide a useful utility for their customersif they weren't profiting they wouldn't be around
Oh, please... You pay taxes here... you pay taxes there.. The difference is that in Europe, you get something back in return. Here, you get foreign wars. Who gets the better deal?Your anti-government paranoia is ridiculous. YOU are the government. You get to vote people in and out. Even if you feel the political system is hopelessly corrupt, YOU have the power to make that change!
bobbi2: i'm in the land of freedom fries - france. health care here is actually closer to american system than most people realize: no waiting periods, amazing care, full choice on docs and hospitals.the difference is that everyone is eligible and the insurance companies aren't greed-driven. it's like what the american system would be if it wasn't dysfunctional.
