livescience.com— Humans can see into the future, says a cognitive scientist. It's nothing like the alleged predictive powers of Nostradamus, but we do get a glimpse of events one-tenth of a second before they occur.

Upgrade our brains....which will probably be possible someday. Did anyone see/hear about that one lady who has some kind of computer contraption hooked up to her brain so she can "see"? She was blind before or something, so some people came along and developed a contraption that pretty much plugs into the side of her head so she can see. But since its still in an early stage, all she can see is light, but with that she can make out shapes of things or something. Pretty cool really, one of the first steps towards cyber brains!
I see, that makes a lot more sense. The brain is using the so called "predictive information" to work out what we might see when the visual information goes through the appropriate pathways to our consciousness. I guess how one words an article/reply depends on what one understands by "present", whether you work it out absolutely at the point of sensory transduction or relatively at the point of conscious perception.
Uhhh... this article sounds brilliant and everything, but I'm going to stop it right there and call bulls**t. Our brains trick us into making it look like we're moving forward in that optical illusion? No, I don't think so.
