youtube.com— Kevin Smith tells, in detail, why he wasn't chosen to write the new Superman. This is a 19 minute video segment but the humor and especially the ending make it worth the viewing.

This video won't go past 11 minutes 20 seconds for me... I've reloaded the page several times and tried to skip forward... but I can't get past 11:20.Grrrr
I too think Clerks is overrated.See, while Kevin Smith might be good I don't think anyone can say he's a top tier director or writer. While Clerks was funny, I don't think it can be constituted as a really reallly well written movie.
The Contractors on the Death Star, Randal berating a video store customer, Jay's rants : All original and funny! My frustration is that KS's films have been marred by his incessant need to include "dick and fart" jokes. He's also a terrible director. KS admits he goes for the cheap laugh, I feel it's a lack of confidence in his abilities to write something with substance.
I loved Superman Returns, you can argue what ifs all day, but I think the final product is more than good enough to meet anyones expectations of a Superman film.
What a great interview. If that version had ever gotten made and released, I don't know what would have made me piss myself more? The "Polar Bear" scuffle or the "Robot-Sidekick", who's "In the life"? Well maybe that's not so funny. Jon Peters, you're an ass.
