The only problems with a "permanent Republican majority" he envisions, is that in order to maintain it:1. He must be able to accurately predict the future enough to win a majority of elections.2. OR... more disturbingly, he must convert Washington into an authoritarian government.
that's not how it works.either way, illegal immigrants are a burden to the healthcare system. do you mean to say that it should be the hospitals who pay for caring for the uninsured (either illegal or legal)? if so, how can they stay open to treat the insured? look closely at McCains plan, instead of trying to get more americans insured, he proposes a federally funded Guaranteed Access Plan, which would pay for the uninsured. whereas obamas plan is to get those people insured so the insurance companies do what they are supposed to do, while the government works out the immigration issue on other fronts.Obama plan would be more than paid for by returning taxes to levels they were at 5 years ago before bush gave the ultra rich $700,000 tax rebates. how's that $600 look now?
