gearthblog.com— Someone just discovered this satellite photo of a KC-135 refueling a C-5 in flight. Learn about the photo, why there are blue ghost images, and see links to other planes in flight in Google Earth.

Boy what a find. A KC-135 refueling a C-5 near a field with a political statement cut into it (presumably by the owner of the field). For those who doubt that they are real, keep in mind that these can be viewed within Google Earth themselves and only someone with access to the satellite photos Google stores in their database would be able to mess with them. This means it is highly unlikely that they are fakes.
Since the military uses the same refueling tracks for aerial refueling, and the farmer probably sees them over his fields everyday he probably cut the msg into the field. One word got out I'm sure the pilots make a point to fly over it and see it.
I have pictures of me flying in a KC-135 while it is refueling a fighter jet. We sat in the boom while they did it, however I was only 12 and in the Civil Air Patrol so it doesn't make me cool, it makes me a geek LOL.
It's a C-5. I have 3500hrs flying experience on them. It wouldn't be unusual to see them doing refueling there between Travis AFB CA (C-5s), and Fairchild AFB WA (135s).
The KC-135 and C-5 are on air refueling track 7BA, a well used air refueling track on the west coast. They are right where they should be. It's definitely a C-5 and KC-135.
