sports.espn.go.com— Justin Verlander pitched the first no-hitter in Comerica Park history, mixing 99 mph heat with crazy curveballs to lead the Detroit Tigers over the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 on Tuesday night.

Yes, because 3 championships by the Red Wings in the last 10 years is a prime example of playoff futility...On a serious note, it's so nice to be able to watch good Detroit baseball again. GO TIGERS!
And the Pistons won a championship in 04, and went 7 games in the finals in 05, and made it to the conference finals in 06 and 07. That's not too shabby if you ask me. Quit your bitchin'. We're fortunate that so many of our teams are getting to the playoffs at all. For years they weren't. Now we have the Pistons, Wings, Tigers, Wolverines (football), Spartans (basketball), and Shock (if you're into that sort of thing). Be happy.
I was watching the game on TV. it was strange because neither of the Tigers broadcasters would even make reference to the fact that he was going for a no-no, for fear of jinxing Verlander. They just kept saying "what he is doing right now is amazing", and they would constantly bring up the pitcher's stat box. It was a great experience and I was nervous as hell watching it, because I knew i was watching something special.
