(the only reason i'm putting this comment here is just so that it gets more attention than it would if i reply at the end, so apologies for that in advance)i agree with your (buddypriefert) point, but as somebody who grew up in a muslim society, the religion is in a different stage of existence than christianity. Imagine America or Europe in the 40s or 50s (not during wartime of course), and that would be the way the muslim world that you're talking about is today. Another way of thinking of it is that the people that have the most power in the islamic world make it impossible for the average muslim to live their lives the way they want to. people who aren't religious will get prosecuted, so people turn to religion to be accepted in their society and so that they won't be ostracized. it turns into this bizarre mob mentality where on the outside everybody is always very religious and they go to pray at the mosques and always talk about how much they love god etc., but as soon as they are within the privacy of their family, they just curse the existence of religion as it is today. i'm glad that some of the countries are finally moving away from their primitive style of religion (namely Lebanon and Egypt, and Palestine to a large extent as well, though that wouldn't seem so apparent considering how the world views Hamas).
I guess if I don't respond to the trolls then I won't be able to respond to the asshats and idiots either... I can take a trolling from time to time (but damnit, I sooo got trolled)
