gizmodo.com — "Pear Cable, makers of the $7250 audio cables we showed you a couple of weeks ago, has accepted debunker James Randi's challenge, where the former magician's JREF promised $1 million if anyone could prove the difference between Pear cables and their Monster Cable equivalent. Today we received an answer to that challenge from Pear Audio CEO."

The problem with this is that even if you have the same product and you make people choose which they like best, they will more often than not choose the one they last had contact with. So if there was 10 people that chose the first cable, there would about 20 that chose the second cable, 30 for the 3rd, 40 for the 4th and 50 for the 5th. This was an experiment I saw on the discovery channel that they did with socks. However, I don't believe it was double blind test, but I think the logic still applies.

"And just so you know, Michael Fremer is one of the most respected audiophile journalists in the business."And outside of "the business", "respected audiophile" is a laughingstock.

"Pear" is more pleasing to the ears and has 1/2 the syllables and is the name of a fruit. Monster invokes childhood fears and memories of being forced to try a cheese that wasn't 'american'. Hence forth I would say that 'Pear Cables' sounds better than "Equivalent Cables Provided by Monster".kk1millionnowthx?

Bergen Mall is a s**t hole. Go to Riverside if you got that kind of money and want high end equipment.

Randi has proposed a reasonable task with this test. Good for Mikey for taking him up on it. Hearing the differences in cables using an ABX box is a challenge but shouldn't be that difficult. I hope Mike and Randi can come to an agreement with the testing protocol. I'm excited to see this test finally come to fruition.
