sherlock... Same here! Jayne rocks. "I've heard even if this does succedd Joss isn't willing to restart the firefly series on tv."I heard Fox made them sign a contract that said they can't do a TV show for 10 years. That was about 3 years ago. Heard that on the Serenity podcast (<a class="user" href="http://serenityfirefly.com/)">http://serenityfirefly.com/)</a>
xs10shul : Well it was the terms of the agreement when United bought the rights to make a movie so it will probably stick. That said, it's a contract and can be changed if enough $$ are involved.
Ok, I've seen the movie via sneak peek, and it is AMAZING.Also, it ISNT a remake of the show, it's a completely new story.Leave it to Fox to kill a great show.
sedition: There is a recap of the series at the beginning of the movie, so that newcomers will not be lost. However, according to the folks who have seen it (and many thousand already have) this is the wrap-up of the Simon/River thread in the plotline. My guess is that we'll be seeing the logical end of Firefly season one in this movie (think of it as 16 episodes as opposed to 14). That way, if the movie doesn't take off and there are never any sequels then Whedon has finished the main story introduced in the series.I will say, though, I want to find out more about Shepard Book and hope we get to see a movie that focuses on him and his background.
To those who mentioned the "not allowed to make more episodes for ten years" rumor, it's false. They confirmed that it's not true in the latest episode of The Signal.Saw Serenity opening night, loved it, going to see it again in a few days. If you liked it, spread the word!
