I like how Smithdag's well-reasoned, unbiased comment is buried, while the one immediately below it that says essentially "bitch deserved it" has 84 diggs at the moment.

It's possible that other sports groups, the band, clubs, and classes wrote get well cards. Today, a Facebook comment and "friending" means so much, but can be overlooked so quickly because of a popup or something else silly.I think the thing that turned people against you is that you approached it in a "I did more, they did less" type way. Different people deal with death in different ways. Accusing someone of being cold is only going to piss that person off.In the end though, time heals all wounds. I'm sure the people who are smarter then the group think followers realize that you were frustrated with the situation at the time.

@ajajadudeMy statement was not that he learned this behavior from his teachers. My statement was that he learns from multiple sources, including his teachers. If your refutation is that he does not learn from his teachers, than I have to ask the question: what, in your opinion, is the role of a school teacher, if not to teach.I blame the school because the only logical conclusion is that either: the teachers at the school have taught their students that violence is an acceptable means of solving a problem OR the teachers at the school have failed to teach that violence is not an acceptable means of solving problems.Tell me, please, if our children do not learn these basic life lessons in a classroom, which they spend 8 hours a day in, then what is the point of sending them to these public schools at all? The students would be better off being home schooled. These students are not developing socially (unless you consider developing social disorders as proper social development), and they can barely proficiency tests in math and English. Is it me, or is the department of education making our kids stupid on purpose. As a comparison, look at Thomas Jefferson's education vs. what you see today. This is from wikipedia, which I know is not a good source, but I dont have the time to look up good sources for a digg comment:"In 1752, Jefferson began attending a local school run by William Douglas, a Scottish minister. At the age of nine, Jefferson began studying Latin, Greek, and French. In 1757, when he was 14 years old, his father died. Jefferson inherited about 5,000 acres (20 km?) of land and dozens of slaves. He built his home there, which eventually became known as Monticello. After his father's death, he was taught at the school of the learned minister James Maury from 1758 to 1760. The school was in Fredericksville Parish near Gordonsville, Virginia, twelve miles (19 km) from Shadwell, and Jefferson boarded with Maury's family. There he received a classical education and studied history and science. In 1760 Jefferson entered the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg at the age of 16; he studied there for two years, graduating with highest honors in 1762. At William & Mary, he enrolled in the philosophy school and studied mathematics, metaphysics, and philosophy under Professor William Small, who introduced the enthusiastic Jefferson to the writings of the British Empiricists, including John Locke, Francis Bacon, and Isaac Newton (Jefferson called them the "three greatest men the world had ever produced").[8] He also perfected his French, carried his Greek grammar book wherever he went, practiced the violin, and read Tacitus and Homer. A keen and diligent student, Jefferson displayed an avid curiosity in all fields and, according to the family tradition, frequently studied fifteen hours a day. His closest college friend, John Page of Rosewell, reported that Jefferson "could tear himself away from his dearest friends to fly to his studies.""

@mogdorIt is no use. Some people are just not capable of person perception and objective thought processes.
