last100.com — “Joost is a piece of software and it can reside on a variety of platforms… It could be on a television set-top box. Or potentially it could be imbedded in a TV set with an Ethernet connection, or on a mobile phone, or in some alternative device that might come out in the future. The flexibility is really high.”

Joost is no Apple TV or SlingBox killer....The content is far below what I thought it was going to be. Most of the content is OLD and fringe stuff.Nothing mainstream, no live streaming, no custom streams, regional lockouts... boy sound an awful lot like cable tv on the internet... duh!Oh and it's a HUGE MEMORY HOG! Slingbox Player does grind PCs to a near halt while loading or running.

Doesn't run on PPC on OSX. Doesn't run on Linux either. No thanks.

If you click once in the black area next to the video, it'll bring up the controls. The control on the bottom has a little interrupted circle with a vertical bar through the upper portion. Click it - Joost then fades out to a little dot and then you're back at your desktop. Alt-tab works too but Joost player is still running. You can also double-click in that black area to minimize Joost to a smaller screen.

Why do you need someone else's opinion? If you have an invite, go decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

doesn't offer anything different from anybody else, has little content, and is the most unstable beta player I have tested so far.
