indecisionforever.com— On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart got arch-conservative Bill Kristol to admit that the government can provide better healthcare than the private sector.

And as for the Daily show covering events around the world, having investigative pieces, and other such newsy things. It is a spoof of the news. The goal is to mock the news agencies of America, not to actually investigate or report. Every "investigative" piece I've seen if full of ridiculous questions and insinuations, full of sarcasm, and even silly props. I feel really bad for America if you Americans cannot see the difference between The Daily Show and the nightly news.
Stewart seems to be confusing neocons with actual Conservatism, which is their philosophical opposite.Of course Kristol's purely partisan opposition to socialized health care is going to be fraught with contradiction and inconsistency, as he really is an authoritarian socialist, himself, like any neocon. If McCain had been elected, and proposed this same health care bill, Kristol would be defending it, just as he defended Bush's massive expansion of socialized health care with the prescription drug bill. The neocons have started making Conservative mouth-noises now, purely because they're out of power. They did it in 1981 when their opponent Reagan won, and in 1994 when trying to take back Congress. They're big fat ex-Trotskyite frauds.Military health care has some horrific problems. I once had a teenage girlfriend whose father was a vet, who was diagnosed at Walter Reed Army Medical center as having gout. NOT as having a simple fracture of the arch of her foot from dancing the night before...but instead, with the disease that old men get from eating too much sweetmeat. There was an eight week wait to get a bone scan, which then revealed that they'd been treating her for the wrong ailment for EIGHT WEEKS.And Walter Reed is supposed to be one of the best military hospitals in the country. It certainly costs so much that if you extended it to everyone, the country would be bankrupt in days...but you'd get Keystone Cops service, in return."The efficiency of the post office, the empathy of the IRS".
I don't know, man. There are plenty of ways to criticize the guy, but no one can help who their parents are. I would hate for anyone to judge ME based on who my father is!I mean, I get what you're saying about how his thinking lines up with a Totalitarian regime, but there's lots of fundamentalists and extremists on the Left and Right who think like that. It's not unique to Trotskyists.
