The love of my life is a 20+ year post accident spinal cord injury victim. He has done so many wonderful things since his injury. He never ever let it stop him from doing whatever he wanted. He went Marlin fishing in Mexico, play wheelchair basketball in Virginia for several years on a few different teams. He went snow skiing, played wheelchair tennis....the list goes on. For the past 10 years he has worked in the medical supply industry helping to provide daily medical supplies to disabled adults and children.Recently, he was forced to go on medical leave from his job. During this documented medical leave, his employer terminated his employment. It has taken a huge toll on him both financially and emotionally. The stresses of being unemployed unexpectedly, plus losing his medical insurance, which is obviously so incredibly necessary, have pulled him into a deep dark hole of fear and regret.He is caught in a vicious circle. He needs to work to get health insurance so he can get tests to help determine why he has such pain in areas that he should not be feeling anything. But he can not go to work until he is released from his doctor. He can not get released from his doctor until he has the tests. He can not get the tests because he does not have insurance and he can not get insurance because he does not have a job.Needless to say, this has also taken a toll on our ability to communicate. He is a very proud and private man. He hates burdening those around him with his pain, but his pain is at about a level 8 24/7. It causes chronic insomnia, severe mood shifts, depression...you name it...pain causes it.I am desperately trying to find legal and medical help for him, but at this point, I am just looking for someone to talk to. Someone who has been here and has made it to the other side. He is truly the love of my life. I feel so helpless at times, and as a problem solver, that is hell on earth for me.Does anyone know what I am talking about? Please let me know....
