@Flynnz -- No you f**king idiot an IR receiver and camera are not the same thing. An IR camera actually captures frames and maps them on a plane. A receiver just responds. These run for about $70 for low-end cameras to $300 for very high-end cameras.
dude relax...I was talking about the fact that its receiving only IR in the cam because of the color plate in front of it. I fully understand that its not the same as a simple IR receiver that just senses an IR signal. The part that you seemed to have missed from my post however, is that you can make one of these cam based IR receivers very easily....hell you can even use a cheap web cam. The only reason you have seen them as expensive as you have is because they are specialty items...but that does not mean that you cant find versions for much cheaper (and again make them yourself with just about any cam you have around the house).....but back to my original point, this isnt some magical tech that can only be done with the Wii-mote, and thats what these stories make it out to be like.
