stopscientology.blogspot.com — The Travolta's at one time had Jett on Depakote, which is mainly used for bi-polar disease. For some reason, they stopped using the Depakote and went back to Scientology's methods of Vitamins, deadly amounts of Niacin and hot sauna's. With Jett's dangerous grand mal seizures, he needed to be on real medication.

According to this page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antiepileptic, there are A LOT of other options out there for people who have seizures. It's interesting to note that "Depakote" and "Vitamins & exercise" are not on the list.If Depakot wasn't working, the Travolta's needed to try something else. Vitamins & exercise don't get rid of grand mal seizures as they tragically learned. How many more people need to die because of Scientology?==Boycott Valkyrie!http://www.boycottvalkyrie.com

I've got no love for Scientology, but in the interest of accuracy I have to point out that the ketogenic diet (which is on your linked list, incidentally, as is Depakote) is generally considered a better choice than an alternative anticonvulsant for people who've already tried multiple medications and still failed to bring their seizures under control. Saunas and such still won't help, but in this case 'real medicines' are only one possible solution, not the only solution. Also, as I've had to point out repeatedly in the past few days, autism isn't something that's truly treatable via medication- autism interventions, aside from snake oil 'detoxes', are generally educational in nature, not pharmaceutical. Epilepsy may be more frequent among autistics, but treating or not treating one won't really have much effect on the other.
